What is Sheepdog?

Sheepdog makes the process of finding a home less painful by acting as your personal estate agent. From deciding where you want to live to negotiating with potential housemates and estate agents, Sheepdog takes the stress out of it by freeing up your time and providing sound impartial advice.

We are currently in the early stages of building Sheepdog so we would love to hear your feedback to help us build new features.

How it works

Rent or buy

  1. Decide whether you want to rent or are ready to buy your first property

Renting

  1. Set your preferences such as where you want to live, the type of building, budget, dealbreakers (e.g. room size or outside space)
  2. Invite the people you plan to rent with
  3. They set their preferences and Sheepdog analyses how aligned your requirements are and anything that needs to be managed
  4. You can now all start adding listings, simply paste in the URL or PDF of any properties you find. Sheepdog will analyse the listing, extract relevant data points and provide guidance on its compatibility to everyone’s requirements.
  5. Each housemate can provide their own feedback on each property including an overall rating on each property and the lead shepherd can select which properties to shortlist.

Buying

Why we’re building this

In 2021 when I started looking for a house, it quickly dawned on me what a time-consuming and complicated process it is. I remember thinking I would pay someone good money to manage it for me, and I contemplated a business where you pay for someone to lead your search for you. Unfortunately, the economics didn’t quite add up for anyone on a normal salary.

In the past six months, however, the agentic revolution has made it possible for everyone to have a personal AI assistant. The problem is managing that assistant so it doesn’t decide to buy you a timeshare in a bungalow in the south of Kazakhstan when you’re looking at flats in Swansea. That’s why we’re building Sheepdog: a safe, manageable, agentic system that guides you through the process of buying a home.
